Educational Programs

The World Affairs Council of San Antonio is devoted to educating members of our community on issues of global importance. In our every-changing world, the development of a globally informed citizenry is more important than ever. As thought leaders in our field, we dedicate ourselves to creating a global community by delivering vital foreign affairs perspectives, especially for the students that will one day become our world’s leaders.

The Council has invested our scholarship fund with the San Antonio Area Foundation. We have committed to offer up to four (4) $2,500 scholarships annually to current students pursuing a degree in International Affairs or related studies at a local college or university.

To apply, please visit the Area Foundation scholarship site.

Please call the Council office at 210.308.9494 if you have any questions

Academic WorldQuest

Arranged by the World Affairs Councils of America, Academic WorldQuest is a team competition that engages more than 4,000 high school students annually across the United States to test their knowledge of global issues and foreign policy. Each year, the winning team of our San Antonio local competition travels to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Carlos and Malú Alvarez Academic WorldQuest National Competition.

Congratulations to our team from Keystone School!

Internships with the World Affairs Council of San Antonio provide a great opportunity for students to develop their own network among San Antonio’s most prominent international leaders. Many of our interns have gone on to careers in the public and private sectors and used their Council experience to work on international and national projects.

For information about interning with us, please visit our internship page.
